I’m Duncan, and Phoe Design is my creative agency for design and website development. Academically, I studied in Product Design Engineering at Glasgow University and the Glasgow School of Art, with a Master’s in Engineering. With nearly 15 years of industry experience, I have cultivated a lifelong passion for design and problem-solving, having worked in a small established engineering business, a global corporation, and a startup. My skills span a range of disciplines, including design engineering and consultancy, bespoke manufacturing, data and business optimization, and information technology development.

I have been developing websites on the Wix platform for nearly a decade, reaching their highest level of developer partnership: 'Legend.' This status reflects my commitment to quality and expertise built over the years. I see form and function as symbiotic, thriving on delivering full-stack website design that meets niche technical challenges while addressing broader business needs. Whether building from scratch or collaborating on an established brief or brand, I take a flexible approach to fit into the required capacity—offering expertise in consulting or taking the lead in guiding projects.

I primarily work with small to medium-sized, growing businesses. Every business, website, or project has unique needs, and my goal is to translate this into website functionality that enhances the customer experience while satisfying both front-end and back-end requirements. What sets me apart is my ability to understand the technical 'mechanics' needed to achieve complex functionalities, all while maintaining a clear understanding of the wider system.

My skill in the advanced Wix development has been recognised, winning a Wix developer competition for custom eCommerce website in July 2024. I am also acknowledged by my peers as a leading talent, using my depth of knowledge in Velo to push boundaries and deliver exceptional results for my clients within the Wix ecosystem. I recognise the important co-dependency involved with Wix technology, designer development and client’s business success. Through the Wix partnership and active community involvement, I regularly feedback to grow and improve the platform across many facets. With technology developments over the last few years, Wix is at an exciting inflection point to deliver ever better websites to support increasing businesses needs at scale.
